Blogs I Commented On

I agree with all of the points you made. As a society, I think we do not focus on the real issues impacting the world. Although I do think that Notre Dame burning down is a tragedy, there will be experts hired and billions of dollars spent to ensure it is repaired. There are many other important issues that should be worked on first before billions of dollars are spent on repairing an 850-year-old cathedral.

I agree with you Dain. Nike has always used coloured people in their advertisements, not to turn a profit, but to have equal representation of all races. Nike took a huge risk in hiring Colin Kaepernick for their brand especially after the controversy surrounding his protest. Nike's well thought out and smart marketing strategy resulted in people talking about the issue Kaepernick stood up for. Thus, I also believe Nike's intentions were to make a statement and to raise awareness about the issue at hand.

I really enjoyed reading your blog post. You had some really good points that I definitely agree with. I especially liked your point on how it provides socially awkward people with the opportunity to not feel alone. Social media, when used responsibly can help connect people and create a sense of community. We rely on it so much now that it has become an essential and important part of our daily lives.

I couldn't agree more! It is extremely insensitive to mess with another couple's relationship, especially one so public. Fake news can destroy people's lives and ruin reputations if we aren't able to identify if what we are reading is fake. Regardless of the creator's intentions, I'm sure there was another way to get the same point across without potentially ruining a relationship.

I definitely agree with all of your points. The Politics of Food Guides seemed like a very interesting article to read. I thought the government was supposed to make choices that benefit us, not for the wellbeing of their business. This will definitely impact my decision to follow Canada's Food Guide as well if it is inaccurate and biased.
